The American Camp Association (ACA) is a national organization that accredits camps that meet a rigorous set of up to 300 standards related to health, safety, and program quality.

2) "Typical" Day at Tall Turf

While no two days are ever quite alike with kids and camp, Tall Turf does have a great line up of activities each day. Check out a basic daily schedule:

• 8:00 Wake-Up
• 8:30 Chapel and Exercises (Fun songs and stretches)
• 9:00 Breakfast (Sit with cabin at all meals in large dining hall)
• 9:45 Cabin Clean-Up (This is turned into a competition)
• 10:15 Cabin Activity (Diff. each day- Archery, hiking, arts & crafts, etc.)
• 12:00 Free Swim (Kids are tested for swimming abilities the first day and not allowed out of the shallow water if unable to swim. This is very supervised and structured)
• 12:45 Lunch
• 1:45 Rest Period (Rest, read, write letters, etc.)
• 2:45 Wake up Bell
• 2:50 First Activity (Each kid signs up for 2 activities that they want to participate in throughout the week. Ex: Canoeing, fishing, swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, drama, dance, choir, etc.)
• 3:40 Second Activity
• 4:30 Snack Shack (Kids receive a free candy item each day)
• 4:45 Free Swim (Swim, visit nature center, work on crafts, etc)
• 5:45 Dress and Clean-up
• 6:00 Supper (& Mail Call)
• 7:30 Evening Activity (With full camp, changes nightly, campfire, capture the flag, etc.)
• 9:00 Showers & Devotions
• 9:45 Lights out

Each camper goes on one overnight campout in tents with their cabin. Girls go one night, boys another. They are in their cabins the rest of the week.
