Leaders In Training

Learn and Flourish as a Leader

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program offers teens ages 14-17 a safe and friendly environment for personal growth. Our learning initiatives provide leadership opportunity for teens to pour into each other and the lives of campers. They will learn how to communicate with, live with, and ultimately love people who come from backgrounds and cultures different from their own.

Summer at Camp

June 2 - August 7, 2024

Leaders in Training are paid $40/day and all housing, meals and activities are provided during camp sessions. Transportation for LIT staff is provided to and from from the Tall Turf Ministries Grand Rapids office in between sessions. LITs are expected to work all Youth Camp sessions, while Family Camps remain optional. Mentors will supervise and facilitate the growth during their employment.

School Year Program

Dates TBD

Through education, service and mentorship, the teens will learn and experience social advocacy, Biblical studies, and career exploration. The program takes place at our Grand Rapids office and transportation to educational and service opportunities is provided from our office by staff.

"At Tall Turf I realized I wanted to work with young people
[...] I've been doing youth ministry since Tall Turf."

LaShone Manuel, Leader In Training, LIT Mentor

"After experiencing Tall Turf, I had a lot of hope—hope for myself and for the next generation. At Tall Turf I realized everybody’s spiritual walk is different, and it’s not supposed to be linear. Tall Turf gave me new ways to worship and pray."

Sinclair Hargrave, Leader In Training, Counselor
